Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA) to become California's First Latino attorney general

In a piece of good news for the State of California but sad news for us, we learned yesterday that House Ways & Means Social Security Subcommittee Ranking Democrat Xavier Becerra (D-CA) will leave Congress to become California's first Latino attorney general.  This means that there will be a new Chairman and Ranking Democrat of that subcommittee next year.  We likely won't have a very good idea of who will fill those slots until the new Congress convenes in January 2017.
