More than 1,000,000 people are on the waiting list for a hearing with Social Security Disability. A study in 2016 showed that 7,400 were dead. The budget of the Social Security Administration has changed little in the past 6 years creating a huge backlog of applicants.

Out here in the "other Washington" I am experiencing burned out bureaucrats at both the state office of Disability Determination Services and the SSA Field Offices. The Social Security Administration seems to have found the magic answer in the "electronic process". It will be great when it works!
I have a case which I have been denied a CD of the file and I am not able to access the electronic record because the Record has not yet been transferred to the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.
