NADR reached out to SSA officials in Baltimore to clarify policy regarding scheduling and rescheduling hearings. They said that they are working with HOs and CSUs to handle the changing business process guidance necessitated by the COVID-19 crisis. With the growing number of postponements across the country, SSA’s immediate priority will be rescheduling critical and postponed cases. They are working to determine the appropriate timeframe for which CSUs should be scheduling future hearings.
We also asked for clarification about responding to third-party requests for information. SSA confirmed that staff should honor requests from duly appointed representatives. They are reinforcing that message in the field. They also noted that request for claim status is among the Online Services and Automated Telephone Services.

I, Andrew Ragnes, Representative to Ms. Eilrich, who had a hearing December 2019, have asked for a CD of the paper file to no avail. Neither the Reno OHO staff nor RCALJ Horne have responded that the file should be scanned and that I be provided a CD of the Administrative record which then could be provided to the ALJ who can finally make a decision, up to this time covid precluded.
